Build the Financial Infrastructure Behind a Growing Construction Organization
\n \nWe're looking for an experienced construction accounting leader who is ready to take ownership of the entire financial function of a growing organization.
\nThis opportunity is particularly well suited for a Corporate Controller, Construction Controller, or senior financial leader who has mastered construction accounting and is ready to step into a broader executive role.
\n \nOur organization operates across multiple construction and service companies, with approximately $45 million in combined annual revenue and operations primarily in Las Vegas and Phoenix. We have decades of established experience in the Las Vegas market, strong industry relationships, and an organization that is entering its next stage of growth.
\n \nWe're not looking for someone who simply wants to maintain the accounting department.
\nWe're looking for someone who wants to build it, lead it, improve it, and make it scalable.
\n \nThis is a hands-on executive leadership position. You'll be expected to move comfortably between the details and the big picture: reviewing a WIP schedule, analyzing project margins, resolving a balance-sheet reconciliation, evaluating cash flow, improving processes in Vista, working with banking partners, developing your team, and sitting with ownership to discuss where the business is going next.
\n \nThe Opportunity
\nThis isn't a narrowly defined CFO position.
\n \nYou'll have the opportunity to shape how the finance and accounting function operates as the organization continues to grow.
\nYou'll lead a team of approximately five accounting and administrative professionals and establish the structure, accountability, processes, and development needed to create a high-performing department.
\nSuccess won't mean doing everyone's work yourself.
\nIt means building a department where people understand their responsibilities, solve problems independently, meet deadlines, produce accurate work, and continue developing their capabilities.
\nIf you're the type of leader who naturally asks "How can we make this better?", this role gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
\n \nWhat You'll Own
\nFinancial Leadership & Strategy
\n \nConstruction Accounting & Financial Reporting
\nCash Flow, Banking & Risk
\nLeadership & Team Development
\nPayroll & Administrative Compliance
\nOversee the administrative and compliance components of HR, including:
\nThis is not an employee-relations or culture leadership position. The focus is ensuring the payroll, documentation, insurance, and compliance functions are accurate, organized, and consistently managed.
\n \nTechnology & Systems
\nTrimble Vista / Viewpoint experience is required.
\nYou'll be expected to understand and improve how Vista supports:
\nWe're looking for someone who can identify system gaps, improve data integrity, establish consistent workflows and controls, and help the organization get more value from its ERP systems.
\n \nWhat We're Looking For
\nRequired
\nPreferred
\nCompensation & Benefits
\n$150,000 - $200,000 annual base salary
\nActual compensation will depend on experience, construction accounting expertise, leadership capability, qualifications, and proficiency with Trimble Vista.
\n \nAdditional Compensation
\nPerformance-based annual bonus tied to factors including:
\nBenefits
\nWhat Success Looks Like
\nWithin this role, success means:
\n \nThe numbers are trustworthy.
\nFinancial statements are accurate, timely, and dependable.
\n \nThere are no financial surprises.
\nCash-flow needs and financial risks are identified before they become problems.
\n \nOwnership has visibility.
\nLeadership understands company, project, and departmental performance.
\n \nThe team owns its work.
\nAccounting professionals understand their responsibilities, meet deadlines, and solve problems independently.
\n \nThe system works for the business.
\nVista, reporting, controls, and processes provide reliable information instead of creating additional work.
\n \nThe department can grow.
\nThe finance function becomes more structured, scalable, and effective as the organization expands.
\n \nIf you know construction accounting inside and out, understand Vista, enjoy solving problems, and want to help build something rather than simply maintain it, we want to hear from you.
